Faculty of Psychology: Seminar Theory and Empirical Research
In this course, students work on real problems from the everyday work of various actors in the health sector as part of a cooperation with the City of Vienna (Office for Women's Health and Health Goals); problems such as: Experiences of discrimination in contact with health services, unequal treatment in the allocation of medication, evaluation of the care situation for certain groups of people and clinical pictures, or ways to motivate certain groups to take advantage of their preventive check-ups.
Over the course of two semesters, they are given several questions to choose from, then discuss their chosen question with experts from the City of Vienna and design a study (TEWA I) and then, based on the results of the study, produce a practical result (e.g., a policy report), which they present to their cooperation partners from the City of Vienna in the course's concluding session.
